With a process of combining 2D and 3D objects I construct crude still lifes in which to render. Taking a step further I have come to produce a series of assemblages and dioramas to photograph in a void of psychological space. Using symbolic forms of the Gothic I imbue the inanimate with emotion. Ornate figures can become threatening and the banal otherworldly. My objective is to employ the allure of violence and the drive towards death to find comfort in the return to the primordial.
